Gender-Based Violence Prevention: Breaking the Silence, Building Safety
Organizing awareness campaigns, community dialogues, and advocacy to combat rape, teenage pregnancy, STDs, and SGBV effectively.
Gender-based violence casts a long shadow over Liberian communities, but TYF is shining a light through prevention. Our campaigns reach 500+ residents per quarter with street theater, radio spots, and school sessions on consent, health, and rights. Community dialogues bring survivors, elders, and leaders together to challenge norms, while advocacy pushes for policy reforms at local councils.
One powerful story comes from our Palm Bush dialogues: A group of teenage girls, empowered by TYF’s safe spaces, formed a peer support network that’s reduced unreported incidents by 40% in their area. “We spoke up, and our voices echoed change,” says survivor-turned-advocate, Lena. By combating rape, teenage pregnancy, STDs, and SGBV, we’re creating safer homes and stronger societies.
